Obituary of Virginia Brons
A funeral service for Virginia Brons, age 90, of Lake Park, Iowa, will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.
Virginia Lucille Brons, age 90, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in Lake Park, Iowa. She was born October 28, 1932, in Spencer, Iowa to Olen and Elsie (Handy) Stroup. Virginia attended school in Spencer, graduating in 1951.
On April 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Brons. The couple lived in rural Lake Park until Ted passed away on October 9, 1967. Virginia and their five children moved into town in Lake Park shortly after.
In 1972, Virginia graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College with an LPN degree in nursing and began her nursing career. After her children were raised, she was united in marriage to Francis John Hanisch on May 24, 1980 and later divorced.
Virginia enjoyed bowling, gardening, crocheting and dancing throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Julie (Scott) Wells, Roger (Judy) Brons, Randy (Kerry) Brons and Rick Brons; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Elsie Stroup; sister, Vila Myerdirk; husband, Ted Brons; her oldest daughter, Barbara Joann Kearney who passed away May 4, 2015.
