Virginia (Jean) Byrne passed away on September 7, 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 86. Jean was born on June 2, 1939, in the Bronx. She overcame adversity with courage and rose to every challenge with hope and strength and became the most incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong friend to many. She was fearless, loved unconditionally and protected fiercely, which she passed on to her three children.
Jean had many gifts, abilities and intuition especially when it came to loving and providing for her family. She turned a house into a warm and loving home and created beauty from everything she touched. She welcomed everyone into her home and her heart; her home was known as "the house of love". Every holiday she insisted that anyone who had nowhere to go, was welcomed at her table. She prepared and cooked everything from scratch for each holiday and created traditions that will be carried forward.
Jean was an artist in every aspect of her life. Her oil paintings and stained-glass pieces are exquisite and will remain lasting treasures. She taught us how to see life through the eyes of our souls and to love deeply. Her sense of passion and adventure was boundless. She shared her passion for art music and poetry, always encouraging us to embrace all aspects of life and love.
Jean was always fully committed to everything that she was curious about, she was known as "AAD" (almost a doctor) and shared her knowledge of physiology with enthusiasm.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, Kevin and loving granddaughter Sarah Jean. She is survived by her daughters, Lucy and Cara, her son, Bill, her daughter-in-law, Sue, her grandsons, Robby and Billy, and her godson Stephen.
Jean leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, brilliance, wit, and love. She touched many lives and was deeply loved in return. She will be sorely missed and always remembered.
