Virginia E. DePangher, 78, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on the day of love, February 14, 2026, peacefully in her home.

She was born on April 30, 1947, in Wolfe County KY to Lilly (Stewart) Carson and George Carson. She is survived by her husband, David DePangher, her daughters Pamela Chavez (Michael) and Kelly DePangher; grandchildren Ashlie Walters (Gunner), Elizabeth Medina (Roy), Ethan Cowan and Destanie DePangher, 7 great grandchildren, a sister Helen Blankenship, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents George and Lilly Carson and siblings; Reva Sears, Faye Wagler, Lorraine Mendoza, Steve Carson, Fred Carson, Clara McCardle and Irene Thompson.

Ginny grew up in Dessie Scott Children's home in Hazel Green, KY and loved taking care of the younger kids. She played saxophone in band in high school. Her high school band dedicated Mountain Parkway when it opened. She met the love of her life when she was 18 and they married when she was 19 in 1966. She worked for RCA for about 20 years. She then worked at Paper Manufacturing for 25 years as a machine operator making adding machine rolls. Then she retired from Mead Westvaco as a machine operator making envelopes after 5 years of employment.

She had 2 children, Pamela at age 22 and Kelly at age 39. She was married for almost 60 wonderful years! She enjoyed spending every moment with her family. She also enjoyed pampering herself with getting her hair and nails done, shopping at stores and yard sales and going on outings with her family. She loved her kids and grandkids fiercely and would do anything for them. She will be missed by so many!

Friends and family will gather for visitation on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 12pm until the time of her funeral service at 2pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46142. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
