Virginia Dwinal, 93, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2024, in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Internment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Virginia was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico to her father Juan Matos and mother Maria Castellano on August 3, 1930. As a proud Puerto Rican, she carried her heritage with grace and shared it with everyone she encountered. Deeply rooted in her faith, Virginia was an active member of her local church community. She had an unwavering love for beaches. As a volunteer at the hospital, Virginia touched numerous lives with her compassion and care. Her innate ability to bring comfort to those in need earned her a special place in the hearts of patients and their families. Virginia was a remarkable individual whose vibrant personality touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her son; Jack Dwinal, four stepchildren, Angel Whiteside, Nancy Heflin, Shirley Coyle, Charles Dwinal, 14 grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dwinal.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
