Larned – Virginia Lee Fox, 91, passed away March 19, 2026 at Via Christi Village, Hays.
She was born in Stafford County, Kansas, in 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Beulah Dark Cubbage.
A longtime area resident she was a member of Larned United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a longtime member of American Legion Ladie's Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and volunteered at the Methodist Thrift Store.
Virginia was a hard worker, first alongside her husband on the farm, later at Hammond Holiday Home, and then as a scrub tech in labor and delivery at St. Joseph Hospital. After retiring from the hospital, she was a clerk and manager for Osborne Motel for many years.
On September 11, 1950 she married Elvis Wilson; he preceded her in death in 1975.
She later married Raymond Fox in 1977 at Lincoln, Missouri; he preceded her in death on May 8, 2000.
Survivors include, two daughters, Linda (Tom) Reichert, Hays, Judy Gladow, Manhattan; three stepchildren, Elaine (Cliff) Musgrove, Susan (George) Welch, Steven (Alma) Fox, all of Larned; eight grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elvis and husband Raymond; daughter, Betty McCord; two step sons, Ron Fox and Richard Fox; sister, Francis Winchester; two brothers Loren Cubbage and Jerald Cubbage.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Larned United Methodist Church with Reverend Angela DeFisher presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550. Personal condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
