Virginia H. Geiger

Virginia H. Geiger (nee King), 85, was born in Pittsburgh, and grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She was a drama student at Carnegie Tech, known for its progressive approach to drama and fine arts, and later met Charley Geiger at Linwood Park in Vermilion, Ohio where she was a lifetime summer resident. They were married on July 16, 1947 in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania and then moved to Lakewood , Ohio. Virginia was very artistic, enjoyed pastels, and portraits, and helped with holiday wreath making as a member of Lakewood Historical Society. Together with her community involvement, she also found time to be a teacher's aide at McKinley School in Lakewood, worked as a salesperson at Geiger's Pendleton Shop in Rocky River and was a liturgist at Lakewood Presbyterian Church. She took great pride in her accomplishments. At the top of her list was her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed their activities and achievements. She was the beloved wife of the late Charley Geiger Jr. and will be greatly missed by her children, Linda Tallitsch (John), Chas Geiger III (Patti) and Gordon Geiger (Susan) as well as her grandchildren, Tom Tallitsch (Carrie), Sarah Jankovic (Tom), Bill Tallitsch (Julie), Elizabeth Kasnekaw (Robert), Charles Geiger IV, Christy Geiger, Caroline Geiger (fiance, Gray Pendleton) and John Geiger and also her great-grandchildren Lincoln Jankovic, Alayna Jankovic and Emery Tallitsch. Virginia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 29, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 14502 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107 or Hospice of the Western Reserve Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145. Memorial Service will be on Monday, August 20th at Lakewood Presbyterian Church at 11:00am.
