Virginia “Ginny” (Stephano) Trudel, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at The Highlands, Fitchburg. She was born July 18, 1931, in Concord, NH, the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (McMahon) Stephano.
Ginny graduated from Gardner High School in 1949, Burbank School of Nursing in 1952 and years later obtained her Bachelors degree from Anna Maria College. She had a varied career as an RN and spent the majority of her time at Heywood Hospital and Gardner Manor.
Later in life, Ginny joined her husband Pete Trudel as owners of Priscilla's Candy Shop in Gardner, a beloved local business founded by her father, Charles Stephano.
Ginny's spirited nature was primarily evident in her personal and family life which included family vacations and their many holiday celebrations spent at their beautiful and welcoming home at 21 Abbott Street.
She leaves her husband of 71 years, Robert “Pete” Trudel, her daughters, Patricia “Bunny” Aas and her husband Paul of Glastonbury, CT, Andrea Dinneen of Fitchburg, Maureen Gallant and her husband James of Gardner, Jackie Trudel and her partner Bill McCarthy of Charlestown, and grandchildren, Jacqueline Aas and her husband Michael Kasianchuk, Alexandra Aas and her husband William Burns, Peter Gallant, Sam Gallant and his wife Haley, Brandon Williams and his wife Renee, Devin Williams and great grandson, Liam Burns and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Lawrence Stephano, and her sister, Patricia “Tishie” Bouthot.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11 am in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 5-7 pm in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
Ginny’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the 3rd floor staff at The Higlands. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in Ginny's memory be made to The Highlands-3rd Floor Activities Fund, 335 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 North Parkway, Worcester, MA 01605.
