Virginia Hoffman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trimble Funeral Home - Jefferson City on Mar. 2, 2026.
Virginia Mae (Jaegers) Hoffman, 87, of Vienna passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Maries Manor.

She was born August 13, 1938 in Jefferson City to the late William and Freida (Bernskoetter) Schnieders. In her younger years, Virginia worked at International Shoe Co. and then later as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Health Center. That's where she met her future husband, Walter Jaegers. They were married in Jefferson City on April 11, 1959. Family meant everything to Virginia. Whether it was baking or cooking or taking care of all their health care needs, Virginia took great pride in providing for Walter and their children.

On June 29, 1994, Walter passed away in Freeburg. Several years later, Virginia married Frank Hoffman. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2009.

Virginia is survived by her children; Willam Jaegers of Jefferson City, Peggy McDaniel of Belle, Robert Jaegers of Freeburg, Joseph Jaegers of Argyle; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was further preceded in death by her daughter; Dorothy Mae Jaegers; two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2026 from Noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with the Very Reverend Stephen Jones, V.F. officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
