Virginia Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Girdner Funeral Chapel - Yreka on Feb. 3, 2026.
Virginia Jackson passed away on January 23, 2026 at her daughter's home in Yreka, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.

Virginia was born on November 5, 1935 in Missouri to Walter and Jesse Mabrey. She devoted many years of her life to working as a teacher's aide at Gold Street School, where she was known for her kindness and dedication to children. She was also an avid crafter and talented seamstress, finding great joy in creating with her hands and sharing those creations with loved ones.

Above all else, Virginia's greatest love was her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Jackson, on March 17, 2020; her brother, Richard Lyle Mabrey; and her parents, Walter and Jesse Mabrey.

She is survived by her three daughters, Beth Duncan (Brett), Margaret Atkinson Stewart (Bryant), and Karen Oxley (Kevin); her brothers, Robert Mabrey and James Mabrey; three grandchildren, Derek (Melanie), Claire (Alex), and Meredith (Spencer); six great-grandchildren, Dylann, Ryker, Delilah, Drake, Robbie, and Arthur; as well as many nieces and nephews.

At Virginia's request, there will be no services.
