Virginia M. Kicinski (nee Kryszak) passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024 at the age of 92.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Edmund and Marie Kryszak. Virginia lived most of her life in Chicago, where she met and married her sweetheart, Edward Kicinski and they raised their four children. She enjoyed gardening, her family, and her pets. She was very active socially, enjoying time with friends playing bunco and card games, bowling, traveling, reading, and listening to music and dancing. In addition, Virginia held both part-time and full-time jobs while raising her family, the last with McDonnell & Miller ITT, from which she retired.
After retirement, Virginia moved to South Elgin and enjoyed decorating her new home, tending her flower and vegetable gardens, performing volunteer work at a nearby hospital and maintaining an active membership in the local Moose Club and church groups, and many other activities. She was a life-long member of the Catholic church.
Virginia is survived by four children; Holly (Gary) Mika, Debbie (Ken) Lindgren, Joe Kicinski, and Karen (Bruno) Mika, grandchildren Jenny Lindgren, Jeremy (Laura) Mika, Crystal Lindgren, Kristin (Corey) Johnson and Heather Lindgren. In addition, she is survived by five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Marie Kryszak, her husband Edward Kicinski, and two of her sons-in-law, Ken Lindgren and Bruno Mika.
Virginia was a sweet lady who loved to have fun, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Interment will be at St Adalbert's Cemetery in Niles, Illinois, at a future date.
