Obituary of Henry T. Kicinski
Pastor Henry T. Kicinski, 69, of Utica, NY, went home to Heaven to be with Jesus his Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY.
Henry was born in Utica, NY, on October 20, 1954, the son of Henry and Josephine (Jecen) Kicinski. He was raised in Utica, attended Holy Trinity, Notre Dame, and Utica Free Academy from which he graduated in 1972. He started violin studies in 3 grade, was a member and held offices in various music clubs through high school, was substitute organist at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree with Major in Violin from Ithaca College. After College, Henry relocated to Virginia, where he shared his gift as a talented violinist, teaching music and being concertmaster violinist with Prince William, Fairfax, Richmond, and Georgetown Symphonies. When he returned to Utica, he became 2 violinist with the Utica Symphony Orchestra, and a member of The American Federation of Musicians Local 51.
On August 15, 1997, Henry was united in marriage with Karen J. Stoetzner. Henry was employed with L&L Office Supply and Hummels Office Plus in Mohawk until his retirement. He was also a model train enthusiast, a gifted woodworker and received much joy teaching music to many students throughout the years.
In November 1981, Henry came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. The King James Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:13. Henry accepted Christ's sacrifice on the cross as the final payment for his sins and has tried to share this hope in both his private life and as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Frankfort, NY, for the past 21 years.
Pastor Kicinski is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; three children, Daniel Kicinski, Lydia Kicinski and Stephen Kicinski all of Utica; two sisters, Barbara Kicinski of New Hartford and Irene Altieri of Albany; two brothers, John Kicinski of Waterbury, CT and Raymond Kicinski of Utica; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Jil Stoetzner of Myrtle Beach, SC, Beth and John Hornak of Franklinton, NC, John and Tam Stoetzner of Piseco, NY, and Robert and Mary Stoetzner of Ringgold, GA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant child and his parents, Henry and Josephine.
Pastor Kicinski's family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center for the wonderful care you provided to Henry.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 4431 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford. The family will receive visitors at church from 4:00-5:00 p.m. prior to service and after service from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where refreshments will be shared. A committal service will be held at Millers Mills Cemetery, in Millers Mills, NY, in the spring.
