Virginia Lamendola, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2025. Born on February 6, 1943, Virginia was a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
A true force of nature, Virginia was known for her fierce determination, adventurous soul, forward-thinking mind, and the generous heart that guided her through life. Her infectious laughter and quick wit brought joy to everyone around her, and her humor was as unforgettable as her kind spirit. She was deeply spiritual, finding beauty and connection in the world around her, and she carried a boundless love for animals. Over the years, she shared her life with many beloved fur buddies, now gone but never forgotten. Most recently, her cherished companion Teddy was by her side, bringing her comfort and joy.
Virginia married the love of her life, Arthur Kearney, and together they embraced a beautiful blended family. She is survived by her three children, Theresa Nemecek, Joe Gallo, and Ann Sullivan, as well as her three stepchildren, Christopher, Kevin, and Jason Kearney. Her legacy of love continues through her 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many beloved friends she made everywhere she went.
Virginia's fierce intelligence, courage, and caring nature left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a woman ahead of her time-adventurous and forward-thinking, yet always present with a loving and open heart.
Virginia is now at rest with her close brother, mother, and father, reunited in eternal peace.
As Maya Angelou once said:
"I would like to be known as an intelligent woman, a courageous woman, a loving woman, a woman who teaches by being."
Virginia embodied these words in every way.
Celebration of life services will be held for family and friends in both Florida and Pennsylvania, with dates to be determined. Her ashes will be spread in nature at both services, honoring her deep connection to the beauty and spirit of the natural world.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter in her memory, a cause close to her heart
