Virginia Ruth Minor

Virginia Ruth Minor of Longview went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on March 12, 2012 in a local hospital. She was born in Memphis, TN on June 7, 1925. Virginia has been residing at "The Gardens" assisted living in Hawkins, Texas for almost 2 years. Mrs. Minor was a longtime member of over 60 years of Mobberly Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Minor; sisters, Louise Stone and Carlene Duke both of Union City, TN. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Shumate of Holly Lake Ranch; granddaughter Stephanie Jeffrey of Mesquite, TX; 2 great grandchildren, Preston Jeffrey and Brittany Morgan, both of Mesquite, TX; niece, Stephanie Beasley of Memphis, TN; nephews Mike Duke of Bartlett, TN, and David and Jimmy Duke of Union City, TN. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview at 11 AM Friday, March 16, 2012 with Dr. Charles Barham officiating. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery in Longview. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service.
