Virginia Morris, age 92, of Elgin, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Virginia was born on April 19, 1932, to Harry K. and Elizabeth (Engelhardt) Decker in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and employee who retired from the Texas Rehabilitation Commission in 1999.
Virginia had a deep love for music, often playing the piano, and was passionate about dancing. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending quality time with her family, and donating and volunteering to different causes. Her home was always a gathering place, where she loved to entertain and create lasting memories with those she held dear.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Harry K. and Elizabeth Decker; her husbands, Paul A. Grandy, Fred Ribar, and Billie J. Morris; and her siblings, Anne Levy, Catherine Ochs, Marie Grosinger, Hank Decker, and Joe Decker.
She is survived by her daughter, Desiree Taylor and husband Kerry; son, Mark Grandy; grandchildren, Whitney Stephens and husband Charles, Garrett Taylor, Miranda Zimmerman and husband Parker, and; Cameron Grandy, great-grandchildren, Dalton Stephens, Tinner Stephens, Archie Taylor, and Henry Zimmerman; as well as great-great-grandchildren, Bexley and Ivy Stephens.
Virginia will be remembered for her kindness, her joy in life, and the love she shared with all who knew her. She will be forever in our hearts.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to New Haven Memory Care and JOL Hospice for their assistance the past couple of years.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 HWY 95 N, Elgin Texas 78621.
Celebration of her life will begin 11:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, interment will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery, 1307 State Hwy 95, Bastrop, Texas 78602.
