Virginia Strange Redhair, 91, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, died Thursday, October 9, 2025 at John Knox Village Retirement Community.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Cedar Memorial officiated by Rev. Dan Wiersema. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Cedar Memorial. Interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Virginia was born July 1, 1934, at Weaubleau, Missouri. Her parents were James Claude Strange and Letha May Tidwell. She graduated from Humansville High School in 1951 and attended Draughon Business University in Springfield, Missouri. Virginia was employed by the Springfield Water Department before marrying Bob Redhair on August 15, 1953.

Virginia and her family moved frequently, finally settling at Lake McBride in 1970. Virginia often spoke fondly of the three years she and Bob lived in Germany, early in their marriage. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and could be counted on to have fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies ready whenever family came to visit. Virginia, before her move to Missouri, was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She loved working as a Sunday School teacher in the church nursery.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Happy (James), three granddaughters, Amanda Happy, Anna Wells (Robbie) and Amy Redhair and one great grandson, Robert Wells and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Redhair; her son, David Redhair; her parents; two brothers, Dale and James Strange; and four sisters, Beatrice Strange, Jauneita Johnson, Mildred Livesey, and Bonnie Gannaway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1900 F Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52405.
