Virginia "Jenny" P. Sessions, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 19, 1947, in Thomasville, Georgia, Jenny spent her life bringing warmth and love to those around her. She resided in Mayo, Florida, where she created a nurturing home for her family.
Jenny was known for her kind spirit and infectious smile, which resonated with all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her husband, John Sessions, lovingly described her as "the sweetest woman in the world," a sentiment shared by many in their close-knit community. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping, especially for purses, where she often found joy in selecting thoughtful gifts for her family and friends, further exemplifying her generous nature.
Jenny's connection to her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to share in her love and affection.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arrie and Frankie Pouncey, and her son Chad Gurr.

Jenny is survived by her husband John Sessions, her brother David A. Pouncey, her sister Diane P. Holton, her son Rhett Gurr, beloved cousin Joyce Pedrick, eight grandchildren Hunter, Rayna, Hannah, Charlie, and Faye, Christopher Sessions, Joey Bray, and "Ped" Sessions, her sister in law Betty Land, and brothers in law Walter B. Sessions and his wife Paula, and James Shiver.
A celebration of Jenny's life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 at Boyd Methodist Church with Pastor Wallace Holmes officiating. Interment service will follow immediately after in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of her spirit, sharing stories and memories that honor her legacy.
Jenny's kindness and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched, as they carry forward the precious memories of a truly remarkable woman.
