It is with confidence and joy that we announce our sweet mother, Susan Moran Dean, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, while residing at the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice Care Center in
Lake City, FL. Susan transitioned from this life to the next with her son, Brent, and daughter-in-love, Tracie by her side. Prior to her departure, Susan was a resident at Advent Christian Village in
Dowling Park, FL, where she received wonderful, Christ-like care while battling the effects of heart failure and Alzheimer's Disease.
Susan is survived by her twin sisters Carla (Bob) Fritz and Carol (Bob) Lindsay, her son Brent (Tracie) Dean, daughter Elizabeth "Beth" (Barry) Beauchamp, her bonus sons Jack (Diana) Dean, Jr., David (Jennifer "Jenny") Dean, eight grandkids including Brandon Dean, Bryan Dean, Libby (Joshua) Tijerno, Jonathan Beauchamp, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Mike) Cahill, Danny Dean, Ally (Noah) Nightengale, Kaleigh "Kale" Dean, one great-grandson, Dean, and two great-granddaughters including Eleanor "EK" and Alice, many nieces and nephews, and many more great nieces and nephews. God truly blessed Susan with an amazing family!
Susan was born in
Fairmont, WV, to the late Carl Henderson Moran and Elizabeth Ellen Moran on June 8, 1943. She grew up in a loving home with her twin sisters, Carla and Carol. Together, they had many life adventures while learning the importance of faith, family, education, and a good work ethic.
Susan took the lessons she learned and applied them to the life she lived. She obtained a bachelor's degree in music education from Miami University of Ohio. Over the course of her career, she inspired many souls with her love of music through education, private music lessons, serving as a church organist and soloist, playing at many weddings and other life events, and serving as a mentor to future music educators, some of which developed into lifelong friendships.
Susan married and had her two children, Brent and Beth, whom she loved very much! While raising her kids, Susan instilled the same values into her son and daughter that her parents had taught her. Later, God blessed Susan with adult aged bonus sons, Jack Jr. and David. In adulthood, Brent, Beth, Jack Jr., and David, and the families they created, became a great source of pride for Susan. They are her living legacy!
The family would like to give a sincere thanks to Advent Christian Village, Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice, and all their team members for the love and care they showed Susan while she was in their care. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider donating to Advent Christian Village, Haven Hospice, or the
Alzheimer's Association of America.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
