Virginia G. Sindoni of
Beverly, MA, passed away peacefully after a full and devoted life. Born in Medford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank T. and Victoria H. (Nigro) Mirabele, and the beloved wife of the late Armand J. Sindoni, who passed away in 2002.
Virginia dedicated her career to education, serving as a fourth-grade teacher in the Manchester-by-the-Sea school system for 30 years before retiring in 1996. She earned her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1954 and a master's degree from Boston University in 1962. Teaching was not just her profession, but her life's passion, and she touched the lives of countless students with her warmth, patience, and dedication.
She was also a woman of great curiosity and adventure. At the age of 23, she traveled alone to Europe for three months, and throughout her life returned many times to explore its history and culture. In later years, she visited her sons often in California and eventually moved to San Diego, where she spent the last eight years of her life.
A talented seamstress, Virginia earned a scholarship to attend a summer fashion program in Manhattan. Throughout her adulthood, Virgina sewed most of her own clothing.
Virgina's love for gardening was evident each summer in the colorful palette of flowers that graced the yard at her Beverly home.
Virginia was known for her delicious Italian cooking, some favorites being meatballs in tomato sauce, stuffed squid, stuffed peppers, and apple pie.
Virginia is survived by her two sons: Christopher A. Sindoni and his wife Evelyn Tracy Randall of San Francisco, CA, and their daughter Zoe E. Sindoni, age 11, Virginia's cherished and only granddaughter; and Joseph M. Sindoni and his wife Jennifer Lange of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Janice Mirabele of Medford, MA, and nephew Leonard Mirabele.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Gina V. Sindoni, who was killed in 1983, and her brother, Leonard Mirabele, who passed away in 2018.
She will be remembered by family, friends, and colleagues for her thoughtfulness, her dedication to her students, and her love of travel and family.
