TUER, Virginia – of Davison, age 97, passed away on October 5, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. Entombment will take place following the Service in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 3 – 7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison.
Virginia was born in Detroit, MI on November 26, 1927, daughter of the late Roscoe and Dora (Hughes) Dance. In 1947 she married Thomas Tuer in Detroit, he preceded her in death. Virginia worked for many years as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone in Detroit and various GM dealerships. She also worked at Buick City for 10 years until her retirement. Virginia was a member of the Red Hat Society for several years. She enjoyed shopping at various stores such as Dollar Tree, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics. She was a talented quilter and seamstress. While Virginia loved cooking for her family, she also enjoyed eating out at a number of restaurants including Cracker Barrel and Blondies in Mundy Twp. For shopping and dining, no destination was too far. She lived in Florida for many years after her retirement, where she acquired the name "Grandma Florida". She often could be found in her flower garden. Virginia enjoyed traveling. Some of her travels included England, France and cruises.
Virginia is survived children, Michele Tuer, Tom Tuer, Renee Tuer, Steven (Maryanne Smith) Tuer; grandchildren, Bill Tuer, Jennifer (Chad) Woycehoski, Athen Tuer, Neil Tuer, Joe Tuer, Alex (Taylor) Tuer, Samantha Reek, Ben (Maria) Tuer, Garrett Tuer; great-grandchildren, Megan and Taylor Ringwelski, Griffen, Nolan, and Landon Woycehoski, Ella and Abby King, Liam and Emmi Tuer; many other loving family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Thomas Tuer; Virgina was preceded in death by daughter, Kathryn Schmitzer-Ng; grandchild, Shelly Field; sisters, Betty Marshall and Joanne Gillian.
