Obituary of Virginia Ann Vickers
Versailles – Virginia Ann Vickers, 85, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022. She was born in Fayette County on November 3, 1936 to the late Melvin and Margaret Cook Beckley. Granny worked for many years as an in-home babysitter, she then worked for Texas Instruments. Once the factory shut down, she dabbled in elderly care. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidery, adult coloring books, and shopping. She also loved and enjoyed her church family where she attended New Hope Baptist Church for 30 years. In that time, Granny had changed many diapers, helped with several Bible schools, and filled many of a cup during potlucks and dinners.
She is survived by her children, Morgan Vickers, Lexington, Alan Vickers, Lexington, and Lisa Carpenter, Versailles; her sister, Elizabeth Nickles, Alabama; her grandchildren, Jason Vickers, Stamping Ground, Michael Vickers, Versailles, Tonya (Julian) Mandujano, Lexington, Stephan Vickers, Lexington, Ginny (Adam) Woodrum, Frankfort, Maegan Vickers, Lexington, and Nathan (Kate) Vickers, Lexington; her great grandchildren, Kaylee Giles, Lawrenceburg, Levi Woodrum, Frankfort, Jace Vickers, Lexington, Luis Mandujano, Lexington, Josiah Mandujano, Lexington, Heidi Woodrum, Frankfort, Gabriel Mandujano, Lexington, and Nathaniel Giles, Georgetown; and many more children that were either cared for or adopted by Granny.
Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill with Pastor Mark Sims officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Christmas Child at New Hope Baptist Church.
