Virginia "Ginny" Watt

In the quiet moments of July 25, 2025, Virginia peacefully departed from this world. Her spirit was embraced by the profound love of her husband, children, and grandchildren who surrounded her, along with the heartfelt prayers and beautiful thoughts of family and friends.Virginia Susan Gnagey was born June 29th, 1942, to James E. and Ruth Glatt Gnagey. She attended high school at Warren Area High School and went on to study at Bryant-Straton Business School. She was a member and eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Church, the Warren Women's Club, the Conewango Valley Country Club, the Uptowne Investment Club, and the Young Mothers' Study Club and a founding member of the Girls' Bridge Club. Ginny volunteered many years of service with the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Club. She was a skilled golfer, skier, tennis player and loved pulling upsets on the paddle tennis court.Virginia met her devoted husband, Jim, in 1963. They have shared a love that has spanned 61 remarkably short years. This tapestry was beautifully woven with raising a wonderful family, building their legacy at Watt Office Supply, and crafting a lifetime of cherished memories and adventures. Ginny's 'good ole days' were spent with her family and friends at their property on Lake Chautauqua while enjoying boating, lectures and concerts at the Chautauqua Institution, nightlife at Bemus Point and hosting get togethers, picnics and holidays. She recently celebrated her 83rd birthday at the Village Casino. Her closest friends lovingly talk about her courage and kindness. They marveled at her positive outlook in all circumstances and their gratitude for being in her inner circle.Those that feel her lost the deepest are her loved ones who have survived her. Her husband, James O. Watt; her children Laurie and Mark Roberts of Wellesley, MA, Jennifer Watt of Erie, PA, Matt and Csilla Watt of Palm Springs, CA and Brad and Jenny Watt of Warren, PA; her grandchildren Shannon and Kylin Roberts, Jackie Hull (Shane Waldern) and Jacob Watt (Trista Buskirk), Griffin, Rowen, Colin and Bristol Watt, Otis, Alice and Minnie Watt of Warren, PA; her sisters Joanne White, Kathy Jerome and Geneveive Scalise; her sister-in-law Mary Anne Edwards; as well as many close friends.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Allen and Marjorie Masterson; four brother in-laws, Arnold Allen, Thomas Masterson, Jack White and Bill Edwards; her nephews Gail Allen and Michael Edwards and her grandson, Oliver Elliot Watt.A daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and so much more, Ginny will be remembered as the smartest person in the room. The space she held was much larger than her physical frame. She possessed leadership, strength, creativity and kindness. Her intelligence was fed by her never-ending consumption of books, knowledge and the willingness to view her world from multiple angles.Our matriarch has taken her rest. In her absence, we will carry forward her example-with grace, courage, and the laughter she so often created.Our family invites those who knew and loved her to join in celebrating Ginny's life at Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 10 – noon with a luncheon to directly follow at the Women's Club.
