Vito Zarrilli, 93, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Rose C. (Poreda) Zarrilli passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024. Vito was born on January 26, 1931 in Calitri, Avellino, Italy and was the son of the late Giovanni and Rosa Zarrilli. As a young boy, Vito lived through the liberation of his hometown by the U.S. Army during World War II and on February 13, 1950, he came to the United States. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War before being Honorably Discharged. In 1960, Vito married his wife Rose and moved to Rocky Hill where they lived their life together. Vito will be remembered for his special skills in carpentry and anything else he could build or fix and get to work, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a parishioner of St. James Church and member of the Mount Carmel Society.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and most of all a great friend to all. Along with his wife of 63 years, Vito leaves his daughter Caroline and her husband Robert; son Victor and his wife Karen and his cherished granddaughters Emily, Sarah and Nicole; sister Michelina Rizza of Hartford; sisters-in-law Elvira Zarrilli of Hartford, Lucia Zarrilli of Wethersfield and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Vito was predeceased by his brothers Benny and Donato Zarrilli and brother-in-law Charles Rizza.
The family will see relatives and friends from 10:00am to 11:00am Tuesday, March 12th 2024 at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT with Services to follow. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492 or www.heart.org

Rose and family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I remember him reading the newspapers each morning at the table when I would visit you Rose, and the banter and laughter between you two. I loved our conversations when him and I would run into each other later at Stop & Shop, and he was just someone who you always appreciated being in their company, so warm and kind.
