Vivian G. Bassingthwaite, age 96, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on February 18, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1927, to the late Stanley Elswick and Josephine Layne.
Throughout her life, Vivian was known for her strong faith as a member of the Worldwide Church of God and her dedication to serving others through her involvement in the Lioness Club, where she contributed to making blankets for special children.
Vivian is reunited in eternity with her beloved husband, Edward H. Bassingthwaite; mother, Josephine Thompson; son, Mickey E. Stuard; daughters, Betty J. Parker, Joy (Charles) Huff, Janet Johnson; brother, Gene Dye; grandson, Aaron Stuard; and great-grandson, Dylan McDaniel.
Remembering her with love are her surviving family members: daughter, Gayle Hartley and her husband Kevin; daughter, Vivian Thomas; brother, Bobby Crabtree; sister, Zama Picklesimer; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and twenty-three great-great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Tomes officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Vivian will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her gentle spirit and kind heart.
