Vivian Cheatham Obituary

Vivian Faith Roberts Cheatham (1947-2025)

Vivian Faith Roberts Cheatham, 77, of Conyers, GA, and Nashville, TN, passed away surrounded by her children on May 4, 2025, after suffering a stroke.

Vivian was the mother of Susan Hope Bond and George Edward Cheatham, Jr.; mother-in-law to Sean Douglas Bond and Katherine McLendon Parker; and grandmother of Julian Everett Cheatham.

Born in Hogansville, Georgia, in 1947 to Doris Bryant and James Roberts, her family also included stepfather Buddy Bryant and half-brother Clay Bryant. Vivian worked in banking before joining Lithonia Lighting, where she served in administration for decades before retiring.

Vivian took special joy in gardening and, after intensive training, became a Georgia Master Gardener. She volunteered in community outreach and events through the Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Program. Vivian deeply loved animals, enjoyed travel, and sought out laughter. She was also a lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Cheatham, Sr.; mother, Doris Bryant; father, James Roberts; and stepfather, Buddy Bryant.

A private family service will be held.

I'm humbly sad learning news.
When volunteering in the neighborhood
Mr. & Mrs. Cheatham kindly always signed
my petition(s) and humbly I established
50 new streetlights in our neighborhood.
They were kind and appreciated my work
and said the streetlights always helped
with safety and visibility. Please accept my condolences. I'm so sorry Eddie & Susan.

Vivian was truly a patient and generous woman, and I am so grateful to have her in my life during my childhood years. She treated me like one of her own for several years and there are no words to express how grateful I am for her presence, her attention, and her love.

My deepest condolences to the family (Susan & Eddie). -Ryan

You were a sweet soul that welcomed me into your family. I always knew football season was around the corner when I received that Georgia Bulldog magazine from you. You raised two wonderful people, unique in so many ways but still with so many of your amazing qualities. Your love of animals and travel are two of those that I know you passed to Susan. Thank you for loving us and the pack. I love you, and will miss you, but know that I will see you again.
