Vivian LaRae Chatwin Curry, age 96, passed away at her home in Hanna, Utah on September 15, 2025-four years to the day after the passing of her son, David.
Vivian was born June 8, 1929. She is the daughter of Gilbert Nephi Chatwin and Norma Turnbow Chatwin.
She married Oran Joe Curry in Hanna on June 8, 1947. They are the parents of five children. They lived in Hanna their whole life.
Mom loved visiting with friends and had a gift for making new ones wherever she went. She shared a lifelong friendship with her dearest friend, Alfreda Giles-you rarely saw one without the other. She will be remembered for her unique personality and wonderful sense of humor.
Mom’s mother died when she was nine years old. She and three younger brothers lived with her grandma Sarah. She always professed her love and admiration for her grandma.
She is survived by her children and spouses: Norma Aman, Oran (Becky) Curry, Elaine Curry, Doug (Penny) Curry, and Bruce Curry; brother-in-law Ross Mallet; and her dear friend of 96 years, Alfreda Giles. She considered her family her greatest treasure. Two hundred and twelve grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren affectionately call her Gram, Grandma Viv, and Grandma White Hair.
She was sadly preceded in death by her husband Joe Curry; son, David Curry; son-in-law, Kenneth Aman; grandsons: Tyler Curry, Tyrel Curry, Tameric Curry, Kenny Aman, and great grandson Cruz Curry; Parents, Gilbert and Norma; and her brothers: DeLoy, Alden, Harvey and their spouses; Parents-in-law, Oran and Vida Curry; and siblings-in-law: Glenna, LaRae, Edward, Lynn, Patsy and their spouses.
For the last few years mom was the oldest in both families.
