Vivian Dolezel Obituary

Dolezel, Vivian E.

Jan 20, 1935 - Jan 19, 2025

Vivian Elwood (Isselhardt) Dolezel, age 89, of Bruceville passed away just a few hours away from her 90th birthday on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in Waco. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 27 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Fugitt and Pastor Roger McClary officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Robinson Cemetery. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Vivian was born January 20, 1935 to Edward and Ruth (Butts) Isselhardt in Robinson, Texas. She grew up and attended schools in Robinson. She married Steve Dolezel on June 25, 1966, they made their home in Bruceville. They were married for 38 years until his passing in 2004. Together they created a legacy with their Pecan Orchard outside of Bruceville. A few of her favorite things were picking up pecans, sitting on her porch in her favorite swing to admire the beautiful surroundings, or working puzzles: 2500-piece jigsaw or simple crosswords in the paper. She enjoyed quilting and fishing, especially off the coast with family, or visiting her nephew to have his famous squirrel dish. Vivian was known for her fish frys and wiener roasts, but most of all for the huge family gathering on Christmas Eve that was enjoyed by all who could attend. She was a long-time and very active member of Bruceville Baptist Church, spending time playing the organ and teaching classes. She loved to volunteer at church and at the Senior Citizens Club at Taylor Hall in Eddy. Vivian was a very busy lady but spent as much time as possible with her family, she loved being surrounded by each and every one of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Alan Isselhardt; and sister, Carolyn Waits.

Vivian is survived by a host of nieces and nephews; with numerous great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins; as well as wonderful friends and amazing neighbors; all who loved her so much and will miss her more.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bruceville Baptist Church or Senior Citizens Club at Taylor Hall in Eddy.
