Vivian Green Obituary

Vivian Nobles Green, lovingly known as "Vivian" to all who knew her, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long, beautiful, and richly blessed life. Her days were filled with devotion, laughter, joy, and an unwavering faith that touched every soul she encountered.

She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, David Kenneth "Kenny" Green; her parents, A.H. and Vera Nobles; her brothers, D.F., Billy, and Wendell; and her sisters, Louise Sailor and Dorothy Thompson.

She leaves behind the greatest treasures of her heart, her children, Keith (Denise) Green and Lisa Green Blackburn; her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Amber (Sam) Carpenter and their four children, Maddie, Ethan, Logan, and Wade; McKenzie Blackburn and her partner, Leeron Koretzky, and their two children, Alana and Ari; Valerie (Kole) Herman and their daughter, Eloise; and her beloved grandson, Ryan Green. Each of them carries her love within them, a love that will never fade.

Vivian's life was woven with many roles, but the ones she cherished most were being a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the sweetest "Mimi" and "Grandma Green" her grandchildren and great-grandchildren could ever ask for. She had a gentle spirit, a steadfast faith, and a heart so warm and welcoming that it drew everyone close and made them feel deeply loved.

Her beautiful love story began when she met the love of her life, Kenny, in 1954. Childhood sweethearts who grew into lifelong partners, they built a home and a family in Whiteville, North Carolina - a place they both proudly called home. Together, they lived out a love that was steadfast and a shining example of God's grace and the beauty of a marriage rooted in faith.

Vivian's greatest joy was always her family. She poured her heart into raising Keith and Lisa and found pure delight in the blessings of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To them, she was so much more than "Mimi," "Grandma Green" or "Mom." She was their encourager, their safe place, and their constant reminder of unconditional love.

A devoted woman of God, Vivian lived out her faith not only in prayer but in the quiet, steady way she served others: with patience, humility, kindness, and grace. Her life was a living testimony of God's love, and she embodied gratitude for every blessing she was given.

Vivian's legacy is one stitched together by countless moments of tenderness, wisdom, and selfless love. To know her was to know compassion, gentleness, and the peace of a heart anchored in faith. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every life she touched.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her presence will remain forever in the hearts of those she loved, carried forward in the family she adored, and alive in the eternal promise of the God she so faithfully served.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Stocks officiating. Burial will follow at Columbus Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
