Georgetown, Kentucky - Vivian Michael House, 81, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Ashton Grove Memory Care Unit in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was born on May 21, 1943, in Owen County, Kentucky. She was the widow of Dean K. House, who were happily married for 64 years. Vivian was the daughter of Emery A. and Nora Coleman Michael who preceded her in death along with an infant sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sherman and Carrie B. House, brothers-in-law, Phillip House and Donald Fariss.
Vivian enjoyed her banking career of 37 years going to work right out of high school as a teller and working up through the ranks as a Board Member at retirement. She was a born caregiver, taking care of her family, helping sick friends, and best of all dropping off a homemade meal. She loved her garden, canning, freezing, and preserving food. They gave away as much food as they raised. She was proud of being a farmer's wife and all the ups and downs that came from that successful life.
She had a smart and savvy business mind, managing all the business side of the House's Brothers Farm. Dean often gave her the credit for their success.
Vivian is survived by her loving sister, Wava L. Fariss, nephews, Gregory A. Kelly, Kelly (Sherry) House, nieces, Teresa (Ray) Nelson, Kimberly (Chris) Collins, great-nephews and great-nieces; Ryan (Taylor) Kelly, Phillip Dean House, Ian Nelson, Ashley Nelson, Owen L. Collins, and Kieran B. Kelly, along with several cousins, lifelong friends, Faye Jones, Vernon and Sue Jones, Polly Wise, and Paul Tackett.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the excellent and loving care Vivian received at Ashton Grove Memory Care Center in Georgetown and a very special thank you to Samantha, her nurse with Hospice Care of the Bluegrass.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Masonic cemetery in Stamping Ground, Kentucky where pallbearers will be Ty Kelly, Chris Collins, Ryan Kelly, Randy Wise, Bryan Jones, Jr. Wright, and Josh Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Spaulding, Mare Coleman, Stephen Coleman, Bernard Jones, Paul Tackett, David Jacobs, Bobby Thomason, and Ray Nelson.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care (previously Hospice of the Bluegrass) 1317 US HWY 62E Cynthiana, KY 41031, Minorsville Christian Church, 5130 Owenton Rd, Stamping Ground, KY 40379, or a charity of your choosing.
