Vivian Staelens Lowder

Vivian Staelens Lowder, age 79, of Memphis, TN, died peacefully Saturday morning, January 4, 2025, at Conroe Health Care Center. She was in Houston visiting her sister and her family. Vivian was born August 22, 1945, in Memphis, TN, to Clarence Bernard Staelens and Kathleen D. Staelens, she was the youngest of 5 children. She is survived by her four daughters, Dawn (Scott) Baker of Atlanta, GA, Sharon (John) Yoder of Kansas City, MO, Lorian Goodwin of Memphis, TN, and Aimee (Andrew) McGaha of Memphis, TN; sister Mary Elizabeth McCarver of The Woodlands, TX and brother Victor Staelens of Springfield, MO. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard M Lowder, brother Clarence Bernard Staelens, Jr., and sister Christine S. Brant. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who she loved and adored, Justyn Ryan, Jeremy Flint, Bennett Baker, William Baker, Morgan McGaha, Ian McGaha, Zoey Brady, and Nathan McGaha. Vivian gave her life to volunteering, most recently with the "Friends" of the Memphis Museum of Science and History (aka Pink Palace Family of Museums) and Real Good Dog Rescue. These were two areas she was very passionate about and were part of for 20+ years.
