Vivian Hattie Mae Nelson, of Kingsport, passed away at her home, Wednesday August 27th, 2025.
Born in Abingdon, Virginia to the late Robert and Mandy Mumpower, she has lived in this area all her life.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who worked hard and loved much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving partner of 26 years, Charles Dean in June 2025. It brings the family comfort to know she is reunited with him, once more. She was also preceded by her grandson, Malachi Nelson and brother, George Mumpower.
She is survived by her son, John Nelson, daughter, Tracy Church and husband Daniel, four grandchildren, Timothy Nelson, Elijah Nelson, Brooklyn Church and Emma “Lou” Nelson, two sisters, Rose Sells and Kate Yancey and husband Chuck, two brothers, William “Bill” Mumpower and Larry Mumpower, father of her children, Brady Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family viewing and service.
