Vivian Marie Sampson, age 93, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 30 at the home of her eldest son. She was born April 17, 1931, in Louisville, one of seven children to the late Agnes and Almer Stevenson. Vicki was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ralph Sampson, Jr. in 1993; two brothers, Bernard (Big Steve) Stevenson and Clarence (Little Steve) Stevenson; and three sisters, Gladys Foster, Kate Sneed and Carol Jewell. She is survived by her three sons, Michael Sampson (Susan), Ricky Sampson (Lorrie) and Gary Sampson (Jill); two grandchildren, Michele Keith (Billy) and Eric Sampson (Tasha); one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Hillson (Elizabeth), and one sister Judy Glass (Jerry†), all of Louisville. Vicki was a Vice-President and Office Manager for Hart Heating & Cooling. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, the St. Ann's Altar Society, the Louisville Rat Racers, the Red Hat Society, the Kentuckiana Blues Society and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) where she was a proud KOP (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) for over 30 years. She enjoyed dancing, movies and spending time with her family and friends. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 8, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. The address is 1020 E Burnett Ave, Louisville, KY 40217. There will be a visitation at the church for an hour before the mass and lunch in the cafeteria after the service. A private burial at St. Michael's Cemetery will take place in the afternoon. No additional visitations are scheduled other than at the church.
