Vivian Simmons Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 11, 2025.
Vivian Mercedes Simmons, 86, passed away December 5th, 2025.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, Stan and Sue Hurst; husband, Marvin Simmons; daughter, Vikki Leeman; brother, Stanley Hurst. Survived by children; Jennifer Milhoan (spouse) Alan Milhoan, Tim Simmons (spouse) Stephanie Lowry Simmons; grandchildren, Derek, Amber, Daniel, Lindsay, and Dayle; great grandchildren, Madilynn, Jayden, Kennedy, Presley, Declan, Lakin, and Lane; sister, Marie Rousseau; sister-in-law, Valerie Hurst.
Vivian was an amazing woman truly one of a kind. She had a way of brightening any room the moment she walked in. Her kindness and the care she showed others were genuine and unconditional, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Vivian was born in Ohio, and grew up in Clearwater FL, Pegram TN, Manchester TN, and later moved to Mt Juliet, TN to be close to all her grandchildren. Throughout her life, she worked in several roles, including at Evans Grocery, Duck River Electric, banking, and at a nursing home where she always brought kindness and dedication to everything she did.
She was married to Marvin Simmons, and together they raised three children: Vikki, the oldest; Jennifer, the middle child; and Tim, the youngest. Vivian cherished the time she spent with her son, Tim. Their yearly Mother's Day trips to Awdaddys Bar and Grill were moments she held dear. She loved visiting the campsite while Tim and his family were camping, it always bought her so much joy.
Vivian enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved playing solitaire on the computer, and she absolutely loved to cook, there wasn't a dish she made that wasn't delicious. Every Thanksgiving, though, she had a running tradition of forgetting the corn in the microwave until after the meal. She also had a talent for sewing; she made pillows and quilts with care, and she'd happily hem your pants if you needed them. But above all her hobbies, Vivian loved to read.
One of Vivian's greatest pleasures was taking trips back to Estill Spring, TN to visit her middle child, Jennifer, and husband, Alan. She loved spending time with their beautiful animals, taking strolls through the woods, and watching the fish in the pond. Those quiet moments brought her so much peace and happiness.
Her life was full of family, creativity, and love warmly remembered in every story she leaves behind.
Graveside services will take place Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 1:00pm, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, 4758 New Manchester Hwy, Tullahoma, TN 37388
