Vivian Holloman Turner

Vivian Holloman Turner went home to her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2026. She was 89 years old.

Born in Sumter, SC on July 22, 1936, Vivian was the second oldest of four children. She was married to the love of her life Irby Turner, Jr. on October 20, 1953, and they celebrated over 53 years together before Irby passed in 2007. Vivian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed baking, cooking, having family dinners on Sunday, playing Skip-Bo, and puzzling with her girls.

Outside of her family, Vivian was a Godly woman known for her unwavering faith, her kindness and volunteering at First Baptist Church Matthews.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Irby Turner Jr., mother Julia Holloman, her sister Mary Carter. Vivian is survived by her five children – Pat Gardner of Indian Trail, Betty Perrone (Tom) of Waxhaw, Denise Turner of Indian Trail, David Turner (Kathy) of Matthews, and Arnold Turner of Waxhaw; her brother Ray Holloman of Lugoff, SC; and her beloved 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Services in celebration of her life will be held on Thursday March 12, 2026 with Pastor Ron Gregory and Pastor Cody Barron officiating. The family will receive guests from 1pm – 2pm with funeral services to follow from 2pm – 3pm at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services – Weddington/Matthews Chapel (3700 Forest Lawn Dr., Matthews, NC 28104). Vivian will be laid to rest during a private graveside burial for immediate family after the services have concluded.

Vivian firmly believed in giving back, donating to various missions and causes throughout her life. To honor her memory, the family asks that memorials may be made to a mission of your choosing or the American Heart Association.
