Vivien Daisy Brown grew up in rural Maryland with her sisters, Dolores, Elaine, Eileen, Mary, and brother Willie. She went by Daisy for most of her life.
She met Charles Speorl and married him in 1944. He was in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Her first son Charles “Chuck,” Jr. was born in 1946. Two years later, Richard was born in 1948 followed by Connie in 1950 and Gary in 1952.
15 years, later, Vivien had her youngest, Jimmy.
Tragically, Connie died of Multiple Sclerosis at 35.
Vivien worked hard to support her family. She worked several jobs until she became a telephone operator with Verizon where she worked for 35 years. She enjoyed working with people.
She lived in the Hyattsville, MD area until retiring. After retiring, she move to North Beach, ?MD ?to live with Gary. There she worked at the local laundry to help out. She took the bus and walked everywhere. She was an expert on public transportation having never gotten her driver’s license.
She lived with Gary in North Beach until moving to assisted living in Bowie two years ago.
She is missed by her family and will live in our hearts forever.
