VONDA CHERRY Obituary

CHERRY, Vonda A., of Richmond, passed away Friday evening, June 29, 2012 in Knoxville, Tenn. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Ronald Cherry of Knoxville, Tenn. and Rick Cherry of Richmond, Va. Vonda was preceded in death by her daughter, Camilla Cherry Outland, and her husband of 44 years, Elmo Wellington Cherry. Vonda was a member of Three Chopt Road Church of Christ and was Past Worthy Matron of Ruth #12, Eastern Star and countless other civic and social groups. Vonda never met a stranger and was always proud to call you a friend. Remains rest at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012.

It was my honor to be part of Vonda's breakfast club until she moved to Knoxville. We loved her so much and our group picture is on the wall at Nicks Roman Terrace. Her smile and words of wisdom will always live in our hearts. I know she was welcomed in heaven with open arms. Jean Wilson

I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish I had known at the time of the passing so I could have gone to Richmond and paid my respects. I'll miss her warm smile and always having some fun things to say. Loved Vonda as she was so sweet and kind.

Vonda was one of my dearest friends. We had fun in our Red Hat club and in our Thursday morning bible class together. She always came in with a big smile & outgoing personality full of fun & cute stories that left us in stitches. She was so sweet & kind, truly one of God's little angels.
