Vonda Gail Hendrix

Vonda Gail Hendrix, 60, of Ladson, SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on October 16th, 1964, in Fort Knox, KY. She was the daughter of the late James Sewell, Sr and Myrtle Dewitt Sewell.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, from 7pm to 9pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main St., Summerville, SC 29483. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, beginning at 11:00am at Beacon Church, 1232 Lincolnville Road, Ladson, SC 29456. Burial will immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
Vonda graduated from Summerville High School and later began raising her children. Her children provided her with joy and purpose. Vonda was a devoted single mother who would do anything for her family. Vonda won Warrior Mother of the Year two years in a row. She had many enjoyments in life including cooking, shopping, crafting flower arrangements, traveling and most importantly, spending time with her beloved family. She would always find a reason to get the family together. Vonda also enjoyed helping others and many times, would go without for others in need. Vonda had a caring and nurturing soul like no other. She was a much beloved mother, sister, niece, aunt "Nonna", cousin, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Vonda is survived by her loving children: Christopher Hendrix, Matthew Hendrix, and Nicholas Hendrix; her siblings: James Sewell, Lyndon Sewell (Jennifer), Tabitha Hendrix (John), Shawn Sewell (Michele), Kevin Sewell (Sue), and Denise Kriner (David); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, especially Waylon West. She was preceded in death by a loving sister, Annette Sewell.
