William Alva "Dub" Cook Jr. passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Bryson, Texas, surrounded by his family. Dub and Marilyn Beth (Cantrell) were married on June 20, 1959, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Dub was a member of the Church of Christ and spent many years working as a pumper for TX Utilities Fuel Company. He was also a dedicated farmer and rancher, tending to the land and livestock he loved. In addition, he faithfully served his community as a longtime member of the volunteer fire department. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Cook; his parents; his sister, Norma Jean Wolfe; and a great-grandchild.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Brenda Nevarez and her husband, Erminio, and Sharon Carlton; five grandchildren-among them special grandchildren Britney and Travis, whom he loved and helped raise as his own-along with Amanda, Adrian, and Cody; as well as eleven great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as "Grumpy.
