W. Comer Obituary

Comer, W. Thomas "Chubby"

W. Thomas Comer "Chubby" of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on August 25, 2025. Born on July 4, 1949, in Tazewell, Virginia, he was a loving and caring man whose presence left a mark on his family and friends. He was the beloved father of Bradley Comer (Elizabeth Comer), Tina Brown (Tim Brown), April Jackson (Justyn Jackson), Amber Carney (Philip Carney), and Tiffany Maloney (Chris Stroupe). He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren Bella, Alec, Genevieve, Luc, & Ingrid Comer. Ryan & Abby Jackson. Liza & Tori Taylor, Killian Stroupe. Izzy & Karson Carney. Chase, Hunter (Karaline), and Daric Brown. Tom dedicated his life to public service. He served with distinction in the Springfield Police Department for 28 years. After 2 long days of retirement, he joined the Clark County Coroner's Office to continue his public service as a coroner investigator. His commitment to the safety and well-being of his community left a lasting impact on those he served alongside and protected. Tom continued to serve the community as a bus driver for Beavercreek City Schools & Greenon Schools, where he became a familiar and friendly face to countless students and families. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Tom had a gift for storytelling that could brighten any room. Whether sharing tales from his past or delivering a perfectly timed joke, he had an uncanny ability to make people smile. His presence was one that brought comfort and joy to many. Tom's legacy lives on in the memories of those who knew him-through shared laughter, heartfelt stories, and the enduring example of a life spent in service to others. He is survived by his siblings, Brother, Chauncie A. Comer (Ruby Comer), Sisters Patty White, Lilly Perdue (Alfred Perdue), and Mary S. Davis. He was preceded in death by his Father, Chauncie Comer. Mother, Helen Comer, and his Brother, Donald Comer whose memories remained close to his heart. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
