WL Barrett, age 79, passed away on March 21, 2025. He was born in Hiawassee ,Ga. to Wade & Velza Barrett on November 7, 1945.

WL was a member of Union Hill Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was blessed with a big loving family who will miss him dearly. WL was a master builder who worked with his brother Vester Barrett for over 40 years. In his freetime he enjoyed dirt track racing, watching basketball, and working in the yard taking care of his garden and flowers. WL is preceded in death by his parents Wade and Velza Barrett.


WL is survived by his wife Cathy Barrett. He is also survived by his children, Teresa Anderson, Tracy Moss and son-in-law Robbie Moss, and Travis Barrett and daughter-in-law Shayla Barrett; his brothers, Vester Barrett and Roger Barrett, and sisters Jimmie Nell Owenby, Merle Penland, and Sheila Kimsey. Grandchildren Dillion Barrett, Dawson Barrett, Dustin Barrett, Trace Moss, Brady Moss, Cayden Moss, Derrick Barrett, Dakota Barrett, Hannah Anderson,Carmen Moss, Lane Lallement and Emma Lallement; and great-grandchild Macy Barrett. A number of loving nieces, nephews and cousins and friends also survive. WL was a great man who loved his family and the Lord, and will be remembered and missed dearly.
