WL was born on January 5, 1986, in Columbus, Georgia. He spent his life rooted in the community he loved, building a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and genuine care for others. WL graduated from Calvary Christian School and was a partner at Kar-Tunes, where his drive and dedication were evident in everything he did. He also proudly served as a board member on the Farm Bureau, reflecting his deep connection to agriculture and the land.
Those who knew WL knew a man who worked hard and loved even harder. He found joy in simple, meaningful things—tinkering in the shop, fixing fence, working cows, driving the tractor, and taking on new projects just for the challenge of it. Whether broken down on the side of the road or needing a hand with a project, WL was the person you could always call. He showed up, no questions asked.
WL was bold, adventurous, funny, and fiercely loyal. He believed that if you wanted to play hard, you had to work hard first—and he lived that belief every day. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, son, father, and friend. His love showed up in everyday ways: being present, lending a hand, sharing a laugh, and standing steady for the people he cared about most.
WL was preceded in death by his father, Tim McCarley; his grandparents; and his uncle, Bart Steed.
He is survived by his wife, Lauren McCarley; his sons, Wriggins (8) and Luke(6) McCarley; his mother, Kathy McCarley; his in-laws, Gina and Joel Figueroa; his brother-in-law, Max Figueroa; as well as several cousins, aunts, uncles, and many close friends who became family.
Those who knew WL will remember him for his humor, strength, loyalty, and the genuine, steady way he cared for others. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Christian School in memory of WL McCarley. All proceeds will go directly toward his sons’ tuition. SUPPORT CCS | Calvary Christian School.
