W. Maynard Tarleton Obituary
Mr. Walter Maynard Tarleton, age 84, entered into rest on Monday, April 15, 2024. A graveside service will be 4:00 PM Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery by Reverend Dennis Wallace. The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.
Mr. Tarleton was born July 22, 1939 in Cheraw, SC, a son of the late Walter Braxton and Viola Wallace Tarleton. He was the owner and operator of Pit Auto Parts for over 40 years. Maynard was a loving husband, father, friend, and philanthropist. Mr. Tarleton enjoyed helping people, not for recognition, but because he genuinely cared for others.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tarleton was also preceded in death by his son, Tracy Tarleton; siblings, Margaret Jones, Alvin “Bobo” Tarleton, and Kenneth “K.T.” Tarleton.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Judy Tarleton of the home; sons, Trevor Kale Tarleton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kelly Twain (Michelle Hoover) Tarleton of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Trace Manning Tarleton of Charleston, SC, Carmen Amelia Tarleton of Charleston, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, c/o Arlene Hancock, 1680 Sam Jones Rd, Patrick SC 29584.
