Winfred Dennis Rape, 83, of Monroe, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 6, 2025. He was born August 29, 1942, in Union County, NC, son of the late Winfred and Myrtle Parker Rape.

Mr. Rape was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his life devoted to his family, and his eight grandchildren were his pride and joy. He also loved his four-legged companion, Bella and spending time with his best friend Jim Stepp. He spent his life working as a builder and built numerous homes throughout Union County. He took great pride in his work, and he always had a strong work ethic that he instilled in his children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church,

2021 Claude Austin Road, Monroe, NC 28112.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mr. Rape is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Griffin Rape, two sons, Tim Rape (Judy) of Monroe, Eric Rape (Sharon) of Wingate, and one daughter, Michelle Baucom (David) of Wingate, one brother, Charles Rape (Mary Anne) of Monroe, eight grandchildren, Erika Braswell (Caleb), Jonah Rape, Kyle Rape (Katlynn), Andrew Rape, Tricia Simpson (Hunter), Rachel Rape, Tristan Baucom, and Trinity Baucom and two nephews, Michael Rape and Mark Rape of Monroe, and his favorite Aunt, Doris McGee of Monroe.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County,700 West Roosevelt Boulevard, Monroe, NC 28110 or to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 2021 Claude Austin Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
