Virginia Addalla Burgess Roark Colo 1923-2010 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Virginia Addalla Burgess Roark Colo, 86 of Weaverville, N.C. and formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday September 7, 2010 in Asheville, NC. She was born in Putney, Vt. on October 7, 1923, daughter of Will and Clara (Tarbox) Burgess. Virginia worked at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 23 years in ordnance and aerospace until her retirement. She moved to North Carolina following her retirement with her husband of 32 years, Isaac Colo. Besides her husband, survivors include four sons, William Roark, and his wife, Gloria of Pittsfield, Thomas Roark, and his wife, Sondra of Wilmington, N.C.; David Roark, and his wife Donna of Hampton, Va.; and Joseph Roark, and his wife, Janet of Ft. Madison, Iowa. One daughter, Virginia Roark and her husband, Kevin Walsh of Crested Butte, Colo., One stepson- Bernard Colo and his wife, Elizabeth of Medway, Mass., 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, Stephen Roark died in 1970. Two brothers are deceased including Richard and Philip Burgess. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Virginia Colo will be Saturday September 11, 2010 at 8:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery in Readsboro, VT. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
