Mrs. Johnson, Stanley was one of my Assistants until 2015. He was the hardest worker I ever met. He was first into the Legislative Building in the morning and one of the last to leave. He always volunteered for any job and did it well. He was pleasant and courteous to the Senators and his fellow workers, and always had a good story to tell. I truly miss him and know he is in a better place now. You and your sons can be proud to have had him for so long, I was certainly proud to have him work for me.

He showed me a photo of him on a US Navy ship in 1942 - he worked until 2015, that is 73 years of service to his country and state! An amazing career of public service to be proud of!

Best wishes and condolences to you and your family,
Phil King
NC Senate Sergeant at Arms
