Wallace Antone Obituary
August 23, 1944 - October 7, 2025
Wallace Eugene Antone born in Calexico, California; August 23, 1944, went home on October 7, 2025.
Wally is an enrolled member of the Quechan Indian Tribe and is also of Cocopah Indian tribal heritage. He promoted Quechan Indian culture, language and was a beloved member and elder of the Bird Song community, spanning multiple tribal nations within Southern California, and Arizona.
He is the son of the late George Antone and Jane (Hippah) Duro. He was raised on the Quechan Indian Reservation and spent his later years on the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation.
Wally is preceded in death by his daughter, Valentina Regina Antone; brothers, Orlando Hart, Augustine Hart, Chester Antone, and sisters, Anita Hart, Imogene (Hart) Johnson.
He is survived by sons, Reginald Wally Antone Sr., Kit Fox Antone, and daughter, Jayne Antone. Stepfather to Godfrey Roanhorse. Grandfather to Day Antone Duran, Valentino Felix Antone, Georgia Antone, Reginald Antone Jr., Ruben Antone, and Gabriella Antone. Great-Grandfather to Norittia Autumn Lipman, and Sky D.T. Ruby.
Common law spouse Mary Howe, and former spouse Barbara Ann Levy.
Viewing will take place at the Yuma Mortuary and Crematory on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, followed by full Traditional Funeral Rites located at The Quechan Big House from 5:00 pm to 5:30 am. Cremation on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

I got to know Mr. Antone when he was aid to our Quechan Youth Group back in the late 70's and 80's. He was funny! He was very supportive and encouraging, got along with everyone and told some great stories that we could all relate with because they included every one of our family members. I will miss seeing him because he always made us feel welcomed. Rest In Peace Mr. Antone.
