Wallace H. "Louie" Basnight Jr.

Wallace H. Basnight, Jr.," Louie," passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, in Manns Harbor, NC, at the age of 72. Born on January 21, 1953, Louie was a cherished member of his community, and a devoted family man.
Louie dedicated his life to his family, faith, and craft. He was a retired brick mason, known for his skill, and dedication to his work. Beyond his professional life, He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a member of the Stumpy Point Congregational Holiness Church, and attended Harbor Light Holiness Church, where his gifts and talents were used for the glory of God.
Preceded in death by his beloved parents; Wallace H Basnight Sr. "Jiggs," and Marcelene Cahoon Basnight. Sister, Gail Creef, brother-in-law Richard Tillett, and sister-in-law Cindy Basnight.
Louie is survived by his devoted wife, Arlene Gard Basnight, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Together, they raised three wonderful children, daughters Gina Basnight English (Neil) and Leah Basnight Wilson (Rodney), and son Edwin Basnight (Lisa). Louie's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Ava-Joy, Eden, Ember, Hunter, and Bella, who brought immense joy to his life.
He also leaves behind his loving siblings, sisters Linda Beasley (Robert) and Faye Terry (Joe), and brothers Ricky Basnight (Crystal), Andy Basnight (Kay), and Tony Basnight (Kelli), as well as his brother-in-law, Rocky Creef. In addition, an honorary brother, Ronnie Gagnon, and wife Peggy, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All will remember him for his love, kindness, and friendship.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Harbor Light Holiness Church. 6547 Old Manns Harbor Road, Manns Harbor, NC 27953. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Louie to join them in honoring his memory and celebrating a life well-lived. A fellowship dinner will follow after at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Stumpy Point Congregational Holiness Church, or Harbor Light Holiness Church in honor of Louie's dedication of service to The Lord.
He will be dearly missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
