Wallace Fuchs passed away on August 28, 2025, at Elim Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.

Wally was born on July 8, 1946, to Carl and Georgie (Hamernik) Fuchs in Fargo. He grew up on a farm by Felton, MN. He worked many summers for his uncles in the Ulen, MN area.

When he was a junior in high school, his family moved to Lake Park, MN. There he met Sandra Jackson. They were married on March 18, 1967.

He attended Moorhead State College (University of Minnesota Moorhead). He graduated in 1968 with a degree in accounting and business administration.

In 1970, they moved to Mapleton, ND, when Sandra got a teaching job there. He was the city auditor and then elected mayor and served during the flood of 1975.

He worked in accounting for several years, then worked as an office product salesman. In 1976, he and Sandra opened their own office products business in West Fargo: Office Interiors. Their business grew rapidly with the help of 25 employees. They sold their business in 1995, then spent many years traveling, visiting every state.

During his business years, Wally was actively involved with the West Fargo Chamber including serving as its President; a member of the West Fargo Lions; West Fargo Exchange Club; Horace Lions; Horace Lutheran Church; and Warren Township board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and visiting casinos.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children Jeff Fuchs (Andrea), Horace; Jennifer Osland (Mason Orth), Horace; grandchildren: Isabelle Osland, Kyle Osland, Bailey Fuchs and Brody Fuchs; siblings: Ginny Strem (David), Fertile, MN; Ione Bloom, Billings, MT; Lyle Fuchs (Diane), Fertile, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Elim Nursing Home: especially Alyssa for all the times she stopped in to play cards and just to "check" on Wally; Calley, our social worker; Comfort, Bernice and Lucky: 3 CNA's that were exceptionally kind and considerate; all the rest of the staff on the 3rd wing; and Shannon, a nurse at Hospice.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Nancy Anderson, Fertile, MN and one nephew, Brent Bloom, Billings, MT.

Visitation: One hour before.

Funeral Service: Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace, ND.

Interment: Horace Lutheran Church after lunch.
