New Iberia, LA - A home-going celebration for Mr. Wallace Johnson, 63, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Fletcher Funeral Home in New Iberia, LA. Pastor John Allen of Rose Hill Baptist Church of Abbeville will officiate.
He will await the resurrection in Hill Cemetery (Prairie Street) in Abbeville, LA.
A visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home in New Iberia, LA on Saturday, February 1, 2025, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Wallace Johnson was a resident of Abbeville, LA and a native of Franklin, LA. He transitioned at 6:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at his home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his companion: Lori Newton of Abbeville, LA; one daughter: Mitisha Rice (Kirby) of Abbeville, LA; two sons: Christopher Willis (Shereka) of Breaux Bridge, LA and Tyler Johnson (Myeshia) of Opelousas, LA; one sister: Rosemary Johnson (Curtis) of Abbeville, LA; five brothers: Harry Francis of Franklin, LA, Curtis Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA, Perry Johnson of Abbeville, LA, Gary Johnson of Golden Valley, MN and Darrell Johnson of Franklin, LA; special friends: Mrs. Lisa Hill and Miss Lavonne Campbell both of Abbeville, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Burdella Johnson and Webster Johnson, Sr.; one sister: Ruby Lisa Johnson; three brothers: Van Johnson, Bruce Johnson, and Webster Johnson, Jr.
Active Pallbearers are Darrell Johnson, Harry Francis, Herman Scott, Jr., Bobby Press, Gerald Press, and Nathaneal Bastin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tyler Johnson, Christopher Willis, Lester Wiggins, Don Wiggins, Perry Johnson, and Kirby Rice.
