Wallace J. Rossbach, 94, Detroit Lakes, MN, died February 10, 2012 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Military Rites will be conducted Saturday, May 19 at 1:00 PM at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Detroit Lakes conducted by the Lake Region Veterans Honor Guard. Wallace J. Rossbach was born February 15, 1917 in St. Paul, MN to George and Genevieve (Warwick) Rossbach. He graduated from St. Paul Central High School and worked for a number of businesses in St. Paul. He served with the Naval Reserve 1933 – 1937. Wallace was united in marriage to Norma E. Jones, August 16, 1938 in Hudson, WI. He served with the U. S. Army 1942 – 1952. Following his discharge, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service in West St. Paul until retiring in 1973. They moved to Height of Land Lake near Detroit Lakes in 1973. Norma died in 2000. Later that year, Wallace was united in marriage to Linda Thompson in Hudson, WI. They also made their home on Height of Land Lake in rural Detroit Lakes. For the past 2 1/2 years, Wallace has been a resident of Oak Crossing. Wallace enjoyed fishing, playing cards, a good drink and crossword puzzles. Survivors include his wife: Linda of Detroit Lakes, a step-son: Cayce Loberg of Fargo, ND, a niece: Gail (Ken) Cole of Wyoming, Step-brothers and sisters: Rae Winn of Alexandria, MN, Gerald Rossbach of Shingle Springs, CA, Ed (Beta) Rossbach of Champlain, MN, Ida Mae Dickinson of Minneapolis, MN, Shirley Rossbach of St. Paul, MN. Niece: Pam Jhanke. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma, a daughter, Maxine, Brothers: Donald, Richard, James, David and Curt, a step-son: Eric Thompson.
