Wally Phillips Obituary
Wally was known to many due to his volunteering at the American Legion, the AMVETS, Moon Valley/Titus Mountain ski patrol and Meals on Wheels. He worked at the Franklin County Real Tax Map Office for almost four decades. Wally was an army veteran and served in Germany in the early 1970's.
Wally's true loves were his gardens (squash, squash, squash), his dogs, Beans and Chickpea, cooking, his many friends, neighbors and family. He was a regular fixture at the Amvets for Beer-thirty (which the time changed depending on the season) where he socialized with fellow vets and regulars.
Wally was predeceased by his mother, Margaret G. Phillips in 2012 and his father, Manderson W. Phillips in 1991. He is survived by a brother Dick Phillips and longtime partner Dianne Coffey of Lakeland, FL; his sisters, Patti Duffy and her husband Gerald of Malone, NY, Mary Ellen Kelley of Richmond, VA, and Amanda Phillips-Riley of Malone, NY; his five nephews; a niece; as well as grandnephews and nieces.
Wally was a true character who was loved and will be remembered by many.

To Mandy, Mary Ellen, Patti and Dick, My sincere condolences for your loss. Wally was a great friend of mine as well as many others. We had some crazy adventures in our early 20's. We raised hell, but it was a fun hell. There are to many stories in such a small space. You were right when you stated he was a true character. That is what drew people to him. He will be missed.
